You Carried Me by Melissa Ohden a daughter’s memoir about
being a survivor of a botched abortion. I can’t even begin to imagine the
emotions Mrs. Ohden went through in her life. Her book is so heart touching and
inspiring at the same time. One of my favorite parts in the book was when she
was talking about her second daughter and the struggles she had and how those
struggles made her who she was, as well as her own struggles made her who she
is today. It’s hard to imagine how hardships can be a blessing and they can mold us and make us
into the person God intends us to be.
This story is intense and full of emotion. Her survival
makes her a pro-life advocate. She shares a part of her life so that others can
learn. I’m not sure how anyone can read this book and not be affected by it.
Her journey to get to forgiveness is overwhelming at times. It shows that if we
allow God to work through us that we can be over comers to all things.
I learned a lot about forgiveness and strength that we don’t
necessarily realize we possess if we allow God to work in our lives. I thoroughly
enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down once I started it. It is
an emotional read and I commend Melissa Ohden for sharing her story. This is a
very worthwhile read.
I received this book at no charge from Handlebar Publishing
in exchange for an honest review.
