I chose to add Doodletopia Fairies to my collection. I
already own two others by Christopher Hart and really loved them so when this
opportunity arose I couldn’t resist. I love the step by step instructions he
includes in his books they are very easy to follow and are great for those who
want to learn to draw.
In Doodletopia Fairies he has included so many impish
characters that look so fun to draw. There are female and male characters. The book begins with drawing heads and
accessories then leads into different bodies and poses. Throughout the book he
adds details a little at a time to get you used to drawing and adding features
as you learn more. I noticed in this book compared to the other two I have
there is a little less of background drawings. There is a section at the end
that includes cute little fairy houses. I look forward to trying a few of
these.
This is another one of those books that I will keep in my
collection that I will hopefully end up using to help my children who have an
interest to learn to draw. It is that
easy; easy enough for a child or tween to use but not so cutesy that an adult
wouldn’t want to use it.
If you have an interest in drawing cartoons, fairies, or
just for doodling fun I would suggest this one too. They are very quality
productions with thick pages, easy to follow instructions with wonderful
illustrations.
