I couldn’t put The Bracelet by Dorothy Love down. Set in
Savannah just before the Civil War in 1858 the author did an awesome job
describing the setting and pulling you in with her secrets and mystery. The
Browning family is a prominent family that finds themselves shrouded in family
secrets and lies. Celia Browning is in love with Sutton Mackay and has been
since they were children. The secrets threaten their relationship and the
Browning family’s social standing. Celia receives threats and a bracelet that
represents a deadly message.
The author did such a wonderful job introducing her
characters. I could imagine the homes, the sounds and the smells of the time. I
could see the imagery that she portrayed. All of it served to keep me
interested. I would find myself staying up way too late reading. She throws in
crime, mystery, history, romance and scandal. This book is well rounded and
could appeal to a number of readers who enjoy such.
I would recommend this book to others. I received this book
at no charge from www.booklookbloggers.com
in exchange for an honest review.
