I love all books from Bryan Peterson and this new edition of
Learning to See Creatively is no exception.
I also own the previous version of the same book but there is enough in
this one to make me glad I have it too. “Fully revised with all new photography,
this updated edition of veteran photographer Bryan Peterson’s popular guide
takes a radical approach to creativity by explaining how it is not just an inherent
ability but a skill that can be learned and applied.”
I love the way Mr. Peterson explains things that everyone
can understand. He writes his books for all skill levels but I think one thing
that sticks out the most to me about this book is not only does he show you the
“creative” photo but he pulls back and shows you the entire scene. It makes you
think a little more outside of the box. The final product might be a postage
stamp size section of an entire scene. He helps you “see” and become more
creative.
I would recommend this purchase for any photographer,
skilled or new, who wants to get more out of your pictures. He explains using
different lenses, composition, he explains what our eyes see and then explains
how to hone in on things that aren’t necessarily the things that automatically
stick out so basically he is teaching us how to see outside of our vision to
become more creative.
